David Capiola MD
Born and raised in New York, Dr. David Capiola graduated from Regis High School, then attended Harvard College, graduating magna cum laude. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown Medical School, followed by a residency in orthopedic surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt at Columbia University.

He is an attending surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital/Northwell and Beth Israel/Mt Sinai Hospital. Dr. Capiola specializes in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery. He has published papers in peer-reviewed journals outlining novel techniques for repairing rotator cuff tears in the shoulder and tendon/ligament injuries in the knee, which are two of his primary areas of interest.

I had severe pain in my right knee. I looked on the internet and found Dr. Capiola. He had great concern about my pained knee, and after an MRI, I was diagnosed with a torn meniscus. I had this operation twice before on my left knee and was in severe pain after the operation, but this time with Dr. Capiola as the surgeon, my right knee was pain-free immediately after the operation, and my knee has been perfect ever since.
